I had my 16 week doctor's appointment today. Baby #2 had a heartbeat in the 150s. No ultrasound this time. I've gotten an ultrasound every time for heart beat, but today, they could get in via doppler. I scheduled my anatomy scan for Aug. 11 (1 week later than normal just to make sure I am far enough along to get accurate pictures of everything). We find out the gender then. This pregnancy is flying by! I've had no morning sickness. I did have a UTI this past weekend, but my loving resident physician husband didn't let me suffer all weekend, he called me in an antibiotic. I did call the doctor's office, but they were only on call for laboring patients, and I wasn't about to pay $150 at an urgent care clinic just for an urinanalysis and a $20 antibiotic prescription. I've lost another 3 pounds, and I'm not in maternity clothes yet, but I'm happy because it's awfully hot down here to be gaining weight. :)
Isabel had her nine month appointment last week. She is only 15 pounds 11 ounces. I've been trying to feed her more and more table foods, but maybe she's meant to be petite. :)

So happy that this pregnancy is going perfectly... that's the way it should be!!
You said you haven't gained a lot of weight- are you showing yet? I'm trying to wait a little while before I tell my employer, but I want to make sure that I am not showing!
You sound like me pregnant w/my boys! You're gonna have a boy!!! Ok i'm just speculating & taking a guess. As for Isabel and eating, i would only worry if she is not growing or gaining weight. If one of the 2 is happening she's fine. If she's not growing or gaining weight then that's where the Pediatricians will be concerned....She sounds like she's doing well. She's waiting on the real good stuff, real food. Baby food sucks and she knows it! (wink)
So glad that everything sounds like it's going well! *hugs*
That's great news. I'll be 17 weeks this Saturday and my baby's heartbeat is in the 150s too! I unfortunately have put on a few pounds and need maternity clothes. I think I'm also showing a lot for 16-17 weeks. Hope everything keeps going well for you this pregnancy.
Yay for the good pregnancy so far!! It's been a while since we had the babies weighed, but they were about 16 and 17 pounds at 9 1/2 months, too. They seem smaller than other babies, but they are in their size clothes, at least...so I'm not too concerned. I'm sure she's a perfectly cute and healthy little girl. (I mean, she is obviously, if the doctor's not concerned....:P) :)
Oh man, I hope that when I'm pregnant again I am as lucky as you are with such a better pregnancy experience!! I felt like CRUD the whole time I was pregnant with Rudy, and that's actually deterring me from wanting to get pregnant again (though I'm definitely starting to feel the fever again. How'd you decide when you were willing to try again, or did you just let God decide for you? I may actually do a post on this sometime soon.
Congrats on the second pregancy
My son is going through the same ordeal with weight. The doc made me feel like I starved my son but he ate more than any babies I've known at his age.
Try to give Isabelle her "favorite" foods to encourage her to eat more often.
@VirgeCat18 - I "show" occasionally; or actually just look a little bloated after eating. I haven't told my employer yet actually. I need to this week though before I pop.
@acutenanner - Well, luckily, she gained weight, but only 1 pound in 3 months, and the doc was most concerned that she dropped from 25% to 5%. But I'm not that worried about it because it's not slowing her down developmentally. :)
@j_flo_in_TX - I was so scared when I found out I was pregnant again because I was absolutely miserable being pregnant with Isabel.... I vomited everyday multiple times until 24 weeks and it was projectile at times, I felt like crud, migraines, ugh.. We weren't trying to get pregnant, so I guess God decided for us. :) I actually had told Garrick that I thought I was ready, and we sat down and talked about it and decided to wait until his last year of residency, but at that point, I was already pregnant and just didn't know, so we had the conversation a little late, I guess. haha.
@uluvvy - I feel like I feed her all day. She eats three meals and gets 3 snacks and 24 ounces of milk a day. :)
@ihearttodd - With my last pregnancy, I was in maternity clothes at 11 weeks; so this is very different than last time. But, again, congrats on your pregnancy!
@MuchFaith22 - I always feel like your babies are much smaller than Isabel, but I guess they're about the same weights at the same months. :) The doc was a little concerned since she dropped from 25% to 5%, but oh well. I think she's just perfect, and I'm not worried because she's hitting all her developmental milestones (except for teeth...)
Wow! I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is flying by for ya.
I'm going to wait, and see if AF shows, and if she does that we are going to wait to try again in Sept. That is AWESOME that you don't have any morning sickness I hear that is the worst. WOW! Your not even in maternity clothes yet either!
Aw. She is so adorable though!
@june2007bride - Yeah, it seemed like mine were late hitting milestones compared to others their age, but really they are right on target, the other babies just do things sooner. And Evann JUST got his first 2 bottom teeth yesterday, and Hannah still doesn't have any! I was looking into it, because I thought they were late on them, but really, they say anywhere from 3-18 months for their first tooth is perfectly normal! I was surprised by that.
congratulations!!! i guess i missed the post where you actually announced this, because i was SHOCKED... anyway, my kids are 17 months apart and like with everything, it's good and bad. the good part... they play with the same toys, they are each other's best friends, they really help each other's development. the bad... well, you could guess. they fight all the time and the work can be pretty daunting since they were both so small together. but you'll make your own way... just don't be afraid to cut your own corners.
ps isn't there a name for this? irish twins or something?
So glad to hear everything is going well so far!!! I'll still be keeping you and baby in my prayers. :)
